THE book of cooking

a couple days ago, i helped celebrate yet another birthday (this time for mike - the old man is now 26 - yikes). i made a super yummy chocolate cake with maple frosting from my favorite cookbook, how it all vegan, and it was delicious. this cookbook just can't go wrong, for reals.

26 is old. i remember when my mom turned 26. she got 26 lottery tickets from her friend. that's a lot of lottery tickets, but i don't think she won much, if anything. anyway, i'm glad i'm not 26 yet, especially if i still look 17 or 18 - 19 tops.

oh baby, oh! today's a special day. miss mollie belle has tacked on another year. believe it or not, this girl is 22 - 10 years older than she looks in this picture.

adding another story to our earlier rant, the custodian at the senior center i was working at the other night thought it would be fun to guess my age. "17 or 18? 19 tops," he said.

um, yeah. nice try.
